WMSKL Leo's Annual Farewell
On
the 3rd of August, 2012, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School
held its annual farewell for the seniors of the club, namely the Form 5
members. The event was attended by 66 members of the club, along with the Leo
Teacher advisors, Ms Leong Peck Lan and Ms Chelvi Ramalingam. The event was held at The Ship, Jalan
Sultan Ismail, and lasted from 12.00 pm to 5.10 pm. Since it was in The Ship, we decided to use the theme "Pirates" to suit the atmosphere.
The purpose of this event was none other than to say our goodbyes to our beloved seniors, in a fun and yet emotional way.
The event began with an opening performance by Leo Wilfred, Leo Sze Huey, Leo Hiroki, and Leo Jia Han. They performed "Stereo Hearts", and the club loved it. The seniors were also given a door gift each. It was a photo frame made by the juniors.

After that, our past president, Leo Kong Shin Wei, gave her speech. The speech was short but meaningful. We hung on to her every word.

Right after her speech, we started serving the food. We had 3 choices of the main course, namely Charboiled Sirloin Steak, Pheonix Neptune Combo, and Grilled Salmon Steak. It was a 4-course meal.
The appetizer : Shrimp Cocktail with lettuce and cocktail sauce as topping. Yum. :D
After everyone had their meal, we gathered at a small makeshift room allocated to one side of the restaurant where the Form 4 Leos performed their sketch and dances. Themed "Pirates", Leo Wei Shien and his team presented a short yet humourous sketch that made everyone laugh. After the sketch came a dance performance choreographed by Leo Xuanly and her team. The dance was simple, but everyone loved it as it was cute and it was dubbed WMS Leo's most adorable dance performance.

All the actors were given character names. Leo Wei Shien was Captain Whalepuncher.
Leo Ganesh was "Milkshake"
SeaLEOS in a middle of a discussion on how to save the world. They decided not to steal from the rich and give to the poor because it was too mainstream. They've decided to search for treasure instead. (pirates' instincts)
SeaLEOS really went through a lot to find the treasure.
-SeaLEOS found their treasure, in this case, their teacher advisors.
It was a ritual for SeaLEOS that they MUST take a picture with their treasure.
Once the performances were over, videos of seniors describing their Leo journey were played. Right after the videos came the games that were prepared by the juniors under the supervision of Leo Angeline.

After the games, the juniors distributed the tokens of appreciation to their seniors. It was a keychain with a mini-lion plush toy attached and a cupcake iced with the seniors' initials.

The Leo teacher advisors, Madam Leong and Madam Chelvi, also gave a token of appreciation to the seniors.
After the gifts had been settled, we moved on to the next part of the videos. Some were funny, some were tear-jerking, some were inspiring; some were prepared by juniors, while some were prepared by seniors.

The videos were simply touching. Emotions were running high, and a few seniors were tearing up. The outgoing Board of Directors then presented their gifts to the incoming board.
It was truly a memorable day for everyone present at the event, as it was a symbol of the end of the Form 5's journey as WMS Leos.
To all the retired senior Leos, we will definitely meet again, regardless whether you will be an Omega Leo in the future or not. May the force be with you at all times. :)
