14th Annual Installation – Roar Galore

On the 1st of July 2016, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its 14th Annual Installation from 4.10 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. at the school chapel. The theme for this year’s Installation is “Roar Galore”. The organizing committee of the 14th Annual Installation was led by the organizing chairperson, Leo Lau Tjia-Yi along with the assistant organizing chairperson, Leo Wong Hong Ming, and consisted of committee members Leo Adria Chin, Leo Wong Kit Wai and Leo Ng Zhu Yang.

The event officially started at 4.10 p.m., and the meeting was called to order by the Presiding Officer, Immediate Past President of Lions Club of Ampang, Lion Joseph Thong Wai Choong. It was followed by the singing of the national anthem and the recitation of the Leo pledge, led by the incoming president Leo Soma Sivashankar. The roll call session was conducted, and a short video presentation about the club’s past and recent activities was then presented, including major events such as Amazing Race, Charity Night and International Relationship Day. After that, a speech was given by the Presiding Officer, Lion Joseph Thong Wai Choong, followed by the outgoing president, Leo Lai Yan Sheng’s speech.

The initiation ceremony soon began with the installation of the incoming Leo Club members by the District Chairperson Designated for Youths Region 3 & 4, Lion Lee Wai Koong. The incoming Board of Directors for the fiscal year 2016/2017 was then inducted by the Guest of Honour, 2nd Vice District Governor, Lion Michelle Mok. Soon after, a speech was given by the incoming president, Leo Soma Sivashankar. The event continued with the presentation of certificates to the outgoing Leo members and Board of Directors for the fiscal year 2015/2016 by the Presiding Officer, Lion Joseph Thong Wai Choong to acknowledge their contributions towards the club. Also, the pins to the outstanding Leo Club members for the fiscal year 2015/2016 was presented by the District Chairperson of Leo Clubs, Lion Foo See Yow, followed by a speech given by the Guest of Honour, Lion Michelle Mok. The meeting was then adjourned by the Presiding Officer, Lion Joseph Thong Wai Choong.


After that, a group of Leo junior members entertained the guests with a dance performance. The event came to an end with the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the VIPs whom attended the event by the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School’s faculty advisor, Miss Low Fee Ngoo, while the souvenirs to other clubs from Wesley Methodist School and other schools were given out by the outgoing president, Leo Lai Yan Sheng. To wrap things up, all guests were invited to have some light refreshments in the school canteen.

Mock cheque presentation session. On the 24th of March 2018 (Saturday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its annual charity event - which was Charity Night, from 7:30p.m. to 11:15 p.m. It was hosted at the Manhattan II ballroom in Berjaya Times Square Hotel, which had been rented prior to the event in order to serve as the main event area. The theme for this year's Charity Night was "Luminescence". The main purpose of the event was to raise funds to help the blind community, as all profits from this event were donated to various blind organisations and homes. The project also aspired to educate and raise awareness about blindness in our society today. The theme was chosen to enlighten the public on the challenges faced by the millions of blind people all over the world. 46th MD LEO Forum

We won some awards! Ten members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had attended the 46th MD LEO Forum from the 25th to the 27th of May 2018 at Trove Hotel, Johor Bahru. The theme for this year’s forum was “Joint, Humanity, Balance”, which aimed to encourage joint learning through experience, empower compassion for a better society and equality in the society by fulfilling our own voluntary services. Pyjamas Party. The forum began with an opening ceremony. Then, all LEOs were briefed about some home and safety rules. This was followed by an ice breaking session and cultural activity, where the LEOs were separated into groups of eight and each explored their creativity in decorating a batik cloth. At 7.00 p.m., all LEOs gathered back in the ballroom, dressed in their fanciest pyjamas for fellowship night, themed “Pyjamas Party”. Charity Night 2023: Hearts VS Spades

  On December 15, 2023, Friday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its first Charity Night event in 5 years at HGH Convention Centre Sentul. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the community of people struggling with diabetes and to raise awareness about their challenges. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and devotion among LEO members towards the club. The theme for this year’s event, ‘Hearts Vs Spades’, symbolises the relentless battle waged by warriors worldwide against the dreaded adversary of diabetes.  Diabetes, a chronic affliction characterised by high sugar levels in the bloodstream, is no ordinary foe. As we unite under this captivating emblem, we shine a spotlight on the valiant struggles of those grappling to stabilise their blood glucose levels and continue to live another day.
