From the 30th of May to the 1st of June (Wednesday to Friday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held a food sale in conjunction with Friendship Day, during both upper and lower secondary break and lunch times. This event was mainly organised by the juniors of the club. The event was headed by Organising Chairperson, Leo Cheng Lyn Yi, with the help of her Assistant Organising Chairperson, Leo Chew Jun Ho, and the committee which consisted of Leo Chau Hui Qing, Leo Lan Yuen Qi, and Leo Nicole Soong Chor Theng. The main objective of conducting this event was to emphasize the importance of friendship in our daily lives. Besides that, this project was also aimed to raise funds for the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School's future community service projects and activities.
The members were all very proactive and enthusiastic in contributing to the food sale in different ways. Some members had been assigned to sell food according to their shifts, whereas others had been assigned to prepare the food which was to be sold on each day. Leo members were given permission to leave class 10 minutes early before their respective shifts in order to make preparations for the food sale. Food such as brownies, instant noodles, s'mores, nuggets, and fruit drinks were offered at the food sale. Prices of the food sold, which was homemade by our very own Leo members, ranged from RM1 to RM2 per serving, providing reasonably-priced and affordable options for the students. The food items which received the best response from the students were the instant noodles and the nuggets.
The event was successfully carried out over the course of the three days. It was given a good response by the students and was a great success as a result. Every Leo member's contributions and efforts in making this project a fruitful one are appreciated.
