We cleaned the home! |
On 23rd of May 2019, 16 LEO members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School volunteered at the Children’s Home of Hope of National Cancer Society Malaysia as part of the community service project from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The children’s Home of Hope provides free accommodation to pediatric cancer patients from outside of Kuala Lumpur while they undergo treatment at the hospital. This event aimed to help students develop social responsibility skills and become more aware of pediatric cancer.
When the LEO members arrived at the at the home, they greeted the staffs and begun the cleaning. The LEO members were divided into separate groups to carry out different tasks. The tasks given included tidying up the play room, sanitizing the toys, washing the toilets, wiping the windows and cleaning the mosquito nets. Although some of the members have never done these chores before, they were eager to learn and completed their jobs well. Overall, the visit was a success and the LEO members managed to work together cleaning the place until it was spick and span.
