Cross Country 2024: Colors for a Cause

On the 20th of January 2024, the LEO Club and Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School jointly co-organised the school’s Leo Interact Cross Country event. The event aimed to raise funds for Methodist Crisis Relief & Development (MCRD) and Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA). It took place in Taman Metropolitan Park Kepong, where students, teachers, parents, and alumni from the school participated in the charity run. After LEO and Interact members arrived at the venue early to set up the tents and stations, as well as conduct a final check, the event commenced at 7:30 a.m. Wesleyan students gathered at the assembly point, and their attendance was taken, while VIPs and a group of youth from MAKNA and MCRD arrived. Following that, the opening ceremony kicked off with a short morning prayer by teacher Ms. Cryzel Gan. International Relationship Week 2024: Connection Found

On the 22nd of March 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Wesley Hall, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted the final event of our Club’s Annual International Relationship Week for 2024 - the International Relationship Day itself. The theme of this year’s event, 'Connection Found', focuses on the importance of investing time and effort into our relationships, despite life's challenges and busyness, to truly understand ourselves. The objective of the event was to strengthen the friendships between the LEO members of our school and those from other schools attending the event. Additionally, it aimed to educate the audience and raise awareness about the importance of self-understanding. The event was led by the Organizing Chairperson, LEO Shobita Siva Balan, with assistance from the Assistant Organizing Chairpersons, LEO Marcus Khoo Kai Xiang and LEO Kwok Zen, along with committee members LEO Carys Teoh Lu Earn, LEO Gwendolynn Lim Hsien Yen, and LEO Charles Fong

Minor Community Service (B): Kechara Soup Kitchen

  On the 27th of January 2024, Saturday, 6 members from our club, who were accompanied by Mr. Jake Goh, our very own Faculty Advisor, visited the Kechara Soup Kitchen Society at Jalan Imbi for our second Minor Community Service Project. The objective of this project, which was planned with the global cause of hunger in mind, was organised to give members a chance to actively help alleviate the plight of the hungry, sick and the poor and empathise with the plight of the marginalised in our society, especially the urban poor. The project was led by the Organising Chairperson, LEO Syed Rayn Omar Albar, who was assisted by his committee members LEO Triss Tan Sze Shan and LEO Un Jae Wen. The participants arrived at the destination at around 2:30 p.m. and immediately set about their work by helping the soup kitchen separate bananas from their bunches and arrange them into boxes for distribution. Minor Community Service (A): Second Chance Animal Society

  On the 6th of January 2024, Saturday, 10 members from our club, who were accompanied by three faculty advisors, namely Mr. Naresh Manickavasagam, Mdm. Devika Nagarajan and Mr. Ramanaesh Rao, visited the Second Chance Animal Society to carry out a Minor Community Service Project. The objective of this Minor Community Service Project was to provide a better environment for the animals at the shelter through assisting the shelter’s owner in carrying out his duties in caring for the animals. This was in line with one of the club’s global causes, namely to help care for the environment. The project was led by the organising chairperson, LEO Coehn Yong Wai, who was assisted by his committee members LEO Tan Kai Yang and LEO Carys Teoh.  The members and Faculty Advisors arrived at the destination between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Upon their arrival, they were greeted by the excited and welcoming dogs, as well as their owner. Charity Night 2023: Hearts VS Spades

  On December 15, 2023, Friday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its first Charity Night event in 5 years at HGH Convention Centre Sentul. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the community of people struggling with diabetes and to raise awareness about their challenges. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and devotion among LEO members towards the club. The theme for this year’s event, ‘Hearts Vs Spades’, symbolises the relentless battle waged by warriors worldwide against the dreaded adversary of diabetes.  Diabetes, a chronic affliction characterised by high sugar levels in the bloodstream, is no ordinary foe. As we unite under this captivating emblem, we shine a spotlight on the valiant struggles of those grappling to stabilise their blood glucose levels and continue to live another day. Failure to masterfully manage diabetes can jeopardise both the health and overall well-being of our society. Hence, the theme ‘
