Voluntary Work at Dignity Centre, Sentul

The Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School had a total of two visits to Dignity Centre, which was in Sentul, on the 9th and 23rd of September 2016 to carry out some voluntary work. Four Leo members were accompanied by a teacher advisor for each visit.

In one of our visits, Leo Teo Boon Kee, Leo Chia Kye Shean, Leo Wong Kit Wai and Leo Chan Wei Xinn left school at 1.30 p.m. and arrived at Dignity Centre at 1.50 p.m. Once they were there, Leo Chia Kye Shean was in charge of helping the café while Leo Wong Kit Wai was in charge of housekeeping. Meanwhile, Leo Teo Boon Kee and Leo Chan Wei Xinn took care and played with the toddlers at the centre. The members also helped the volunteers to pack cookies into plastic bags. The cookies were prepared for a non-profitable event on the following Monday. They talked and interacted with the people there as well.

Soon, it was time for the members to go. The Leos thanked the people at the centre and left the centre at 3.00 p.m. They then arrived at school at 3.10 p.m. The Leo members were very grateful that they were given an opportunity to assist those who are in need, and felt happy after helping the people there.

On the 24th of March 2018 (Saturday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its annual charity event - which was Charity Night, from 7:30p.m. to 11:15 p.m. It was hosted at the Manhattan II ballroom in Berjaya Times Square Hotel, which had been rented prior to the event in order to serve as the main event area. The theme for this year's Charity Night was "Luminescence". The main purpose of the event was to raise funds to help the blind community, as all profits from this event were donated to various blind organisations and homes. The project also aspired to educate and raise awareness about blindness in our society today. The theme was chosen to enlighten the public on the challenges faced by the millions of blind people all over the world. 46th MD LEO Forum

We won some awards! Ten members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had attended the 46th MD LEO Forum from the 25th to the 27th of May 2018 at Trove Hotel, Johor Bahru. The theme for this year’s forum was “Joint, Humanity, Balance”, which aimed to encourage joint learning through experience, empower compassion for a better society and equality in the society by fulfilling our own voluntary services. Pyjamas Party. The forum began with an opening ceremony. Then, all LEOs were briefed about some home and safety rules. This was followed by an ice breaking session and cultural activity, where the LEOs were separated into groups of eight and each explored their creativity in decorating a batik cloth. At 7.00 p.m., all LEOs gathered back in the ballroom, dressed in their fanciest pyjamas for fellowship night, themed “Pyjamas Party”. Charity Night 2023: Hearts VS Spades

  On December 15, 2023, Friday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its first Charity Night event in 5 years at HGH Convention Centre Sentul. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the community of people struggling with diabetes and to raise awareness about their challenges. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and devotion among LEO members towards the club. The theme for this year’s event, ‘Hearts Vs Spades’, symbolises the relentless battle waged by warriors worldwide against the dreaded adversary of diabetes.  Diabetes, a chronic affliction characterised by high sugar levels in the bloodstream, is no ordinary foe. As we unite under this captivating emblem, we shine a spotlight on the valiant struggles of those grappling to stabilise their blood glucose levels and continue to live another day.
