Leo Orientation Day 2018

On the 12th of January 2018, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its annual Orientation Day. This event was headed by organising chairperson Leo Tan Xiao Xuan, along with Leo Yap Ziyi and Leo Yeoh Xin Qii. All the members gathered in front of the lecture theatre at 3:20 p.m. to register for the event. A total of 73 members were present for Orientation Day. 

 Soon after, the Lions were then ushered by the president and the vice president to the lecture theatre. The event began promptly at 3:30 p.m. After the arrival of all the Lions, the meeting was called to order by President of the Lions Club of Ampang, Lion Lee Choon Heng. The recitation of the Leo pledge was then led by our president, Leo Khor Jia Shin, which was then followed by the roll call. This year, we were honoured to have the guest speaker, District Chairperson for Leo Clubs, Lion Lee Wai Koong, President of the Lions Club of Ampang, Lion Lee Choon Heng, Lion Elessee Lai, and Lion Victor attending our event. The emcees then invited Lion Lee Wai Koong to deliver a concise talk on the history of the Lion Clubs and Leo Clubs, projects organised by both clubs, and the structures of both clubs. All our members gained valuable information from Lion Lee Wai Koong's speech. 

 All our members took notes during Lion Lee Wai Koong's speech in order to remember the information that was delivered. Lion Lee Wai Koong asked them basic questions about the foundation of the Lions Clubs and Leo Clubs, which they were able to answer confidently. After his speech, the emcees began the presentation of tokens of appreciation by our club's president to the guests. Following this, Lion Lee Choon Heng was then invited on stage to adjourn the meeting. 

 The event ended at 5:30 p.m.. The president, accompanied by our faculty advisors, then ushered the Lions to the canteen for some light refreshments. After that, all the members left the lecture theatre in an orderly manner and everyone gained useful knowledge on Lions Clubs and Leo Clubs.

Mock cheque presentation session. On the 24th of March 2018 (Saturday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its annual charity event - which was Charity Night, from 7:30p.m. to 11:15 p.m. It was hosted at the Manhattan II ballroom in Berjaya Times Square Hotel, which had been rented prior to the event in order to serve as the main event area. The theme for this year's Charity Night was "Luminescence". The main purpose of the event was to raise funds to help the blind community, as all profits from this event were donated to various blind organisations and homes. The project also aspired to educate and raise awareness about blindness in our society today. The theme was chosen to enlighten the public on the challenges faced by the millions of blind people all over the world. 46th MD LEO Forum

We won some awards! Ten members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had attended the 46th MD LEO Forum from the 25th to the 27th of May 2018 at Trove Hotel, Johor Bahru. The theme for this year’s forum was “Joint, Humanity, Balance”, which aimed to encourage joint learning through experience, empower compassion for a better society and equality in the society by fulfilling our own voluntary services. Pyjamas Party. The forum began with an opening ceremony. Then, all LEOs were briefed about some home and safety rules. This was followed by an ice breaking session and cultural activity, where the LEOs were separated into groups of eight and each explored their creativity in decorating a batik cloth. At 7.00 p.m., all LEOs gathered back in the ballroom, dressed in their fanciest pyjamas for fellowship night, themed “Pyjamas Party”. Charity Night 2023: Hearts VS Spades

  On December 15, 2023, Friday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its first Charity Night event in 5 years at HGH Convention Centre Sentul. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the community of people struggling with diabetes and to raise awareness about their challenges. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and devotion among LEO members towards the club. The theme for this year’s event, ‘Hearts Vs Spades’, symbolises the relentless battle waged by warriors worldwide against the dreaded adversary of diabetes.  Diabetes, a chronic affliction characterised by high sugar levels in the bloodstream, is no ordinary foe. As we unite under this captivating emblem, we shine a spotlight on the valiant struggles of those grappling to stabilise their blood glucose levels and continue to live another day.
