Interact Club of WMSKL(I)’s 45th Annual Installation 2019 - Ad Meliora

On the 25th of July 2019, Thursday, the Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School held its 45th Annual Installation at the Dutton Hall from 1540 hours to 1730 hours. The theme chosen for this year was “Ad Meliora”, which means “Towards Better Things” in Latin. This phrase resonates with the club as they constantly encourage others to work towards greater heights.

The event began with the singing of the national anthem and the Interact song, followed by the recognition of the Rotarian dignitaries and clubs present. A speech was then given by both a Rotarian and our school principal, Mr. Wong Chee Kheon.

The Rotarian began the ceremony of presentation of certificates of appreciation to the outgoing senior members of the club. It was to commemorate their tireless sacrifice and hard work in making this fiscal year a successful one. This was followed by the installation of the incoming members as well as the Board of Directors for the fiscal year of 2019/2020, where the members each received a certificate. While the event soon came to a closing, four Interactors delivered a sweet performance to the audience. The outgoing president of the Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School, Interactor Claire Lim then presented her speech which was followed by a video presentation prepared by a few of the Interactors regarding the events that have taken place throughout the fiscal year of 2018/2019 .

The meeting was then brought to an end by the Incoming President, Interactor Max Phang and Rotarian Sandeep Singh’s speeches. The faculty advisor of the club, Madam Norhayati then presented tokens of appreciation to the VIPs and to all club representatives who attended the event. Guests were then invited to the canteen for refreshments prepared by the members.

In conclusion, this was a successful and memorable event as we witnessed the formal send off of the senior members as well as the warm welcome to the newly installed members and the Board of Directors for the fiscal year of 2019/2020. We wish them all the best for their events in the future.

46th MD LEO Forum

We won some awards! Ten members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had attended the 46th MD LEO Forum from the 25th to the 27th of May 2018 at Trove Hotel, Johor Bahru. The theme for this year’s forum was “Joint, Humanity, Balance”, which aimed to encourage joint learning through experience, empower compassion for a better society and equality in the society by fulfilling our own voluntary services. This was followed by an ice breaking session and cultural activity, where the LEOs were separated into groups of eight and each explored their creativity in decorating a batik cloth. Charity Night 2023: Hearts VS Spades

  On December 15, 2023, Friday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its first Charity Night event in 5 years at HGH Convention Centre Sentul. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the community of people struggling with diabetes and to raise awareness about their challenges. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and devotion among LEO members towards the club. The theme for this year’s event, ‘Hearts Vs Spades’, symbolises the relentless battle waged by warriors worldwide against the dreaded adversary of diabetes.  Diabetes, a chronic affliction characterised by high sugar levels in the bloodstream, is no ordinary foe. As we unite under this captivating emblem, we shine a spotlight on the valiant struggles of those grappling to stabilise their blood glucose levels and continue to live another day.
