WMS Leo Club's 11th Annual Installation

             The Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its 11th Installation on the 19th July 2013, from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm at the school's chapel with the theme, "Let The New Roars Be Heard". 
         
          At 3.00 pm, the guests started to arrive. Ushers were sent out to the LRT station, the front gate and the back gate of the school to greet our guests and give directions to the chapel. Our president had some short conversations with the Lions.

          At 3.45 pm, the event officially started. The meeting was called to order by the presiding officer, President of Lions Club of Ampang, Lion Terence Foo. It was then followed by the singing of the national anthem. The Leos then remained standing for the recitation of the Leo pledge led by the outgoing president, Leo Ooi Zhi Xuan. There was a roll call for all the clubs that attended after that. After the roll call, a speech was given by the guest of honour, District Chairperson, Lion Foo See Yow. This was soon followed by a speech by the President of Lions Club of Ampang.

         The initiation ceremony then began with the initiation of the incoming Leo members by Lion Tan Poh Ling. After that, the district chairperson inducted the incoming Board of Directors of the fiscal year 2013/2014. The incoming president, Leo Chieng Jin Han then gave his speech.

          It was then followed by the presentation of outgoing certificates to the outgoing Leo members to acknowledge their contribution towards the club. This was then followed by speeches by the outgoing president and the Vice Principal of Wesley Methodist School, Madam Pearl Moses.

         After the speeches, the tokens of appreciation was presented to the VIPs. The club souvenirs were then presented by the outgoing president of the club. After the presentation of club souvenirs, the meeting was adjourned by the presiding officer. A dance performance was then presented by our club’s very own dance crew, Prominence. After that, the incoming Board of Directors performed a song, Hakuna Matata. Finally, all of the guests were invited for some light refreshments.

            The Leo members started cleaning up after the guests had left. All the chairs in the chapel were returned to the hall and all equipment used to prepare the food was cleaned. The domestic science lab which was used to prepare the food and the canteen was also cleaned up. At 7.00 pm, the members were dismissed.

Mock cheque presentation session. On the 24th of March 2018 (Saturday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its annual charity event - which was Charity Night, from 7:30p.m. to 11:15 p.m. It was hosted at the Manhattan II ballroom in Berjaya Times Square Hotel, which had been rented prior to the event in order to serve as the main event area. The theme for this year's Charity Night was "Luminescence". The main purpose of the event was to raise funds to help the blind community, as all profits from this event were donated to various blind organisations and homes. The project also aspired to educate and raise awareness about blindness in our society today. The theme was chosen to enlighten the public on the challenges faced by the millions of blind people all over the world. 46th MD LEO Forum

We won some awards! Ten members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had attended the 46th MD LEO Forum from the 25th to the 27th of May 2018 at Trove Hotel, Johor Bahru. The theme for this year’s forum was “Joint, Humanity, Balance”, which aimed to encourage joint learning through experience, empower compassion for a better society and equality in the society by fulfilling our own voluntary services. Pyjamas Party. The forum began with an opening ceremony. Then, all LEOs were briefed about some home and safety rules. This was followed by an ice breaking session and cultural activity, where the LEOs were separated into groups of eight and each explored their creativity in decorating a batik cloth. At 7.00 p.m., all LEOs gathered back in the ballroom, dressed in their fanciest pyjamas for fellowship night, themed “Pyjamas Party”. Charity Night 2023: Hearts VS Spades

  On December 15, 2023, Friday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its first Charity Night event in 5 years at HGH Convention Centre Sentul. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the community of people struggling with diabetes and to raise awareness about their challenges. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and devotion among LEO members towards the club. The theme for this year’s event, ‘Hearts Vs Spades’, symbolises the relentless battle waged by warriors worldwide against the dreaded adversary of diabetes.  Diabetes, a chronic affliction characterised by high sugar levels in the bloodstream, is no ordinary foe. As we unite under this captivating emblem, we shine a spotlight on the valiant struggles of those grappling to stabilise their blood glucose levels and continue to live another day.
