16th Annual Farewell - Lions in Pyjamas

On the 18th of August 2018, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its 16th Annual Farewell at Huang Kitchen from 3.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. The theme chosen for this year was “Lions in Pyjamas”, where the word “pyjamas” is used to signify that the senior LEO members can rest easy after knowing that all their hard work has paid off, realizing that a new generation of members will emerge to carry on their well-established legacy after a brilliant run for the 2017/2018 fiscal year. This event was lead by the Organising Chairperson, LEO Song He Lin, who was assisted by the Assistant Organising Chairperson, LEO Niklas Ng Zi Zhan together with the committee members LEO Nicole Soong Chor Theng, LEO Low Tze Lun and LEO Wong Peh Bie.


The event began with an opening performance by the junior members, which included a surprise dance performance by the Board of Directors in onesies, in conjunction with the theme of this event. The emcees then gave a warm welcome to the senior members and invited the Organising Chairperson, LEO Song He Lin to give her speech. Then, there was a video presentation prepared by the junior members to express their gratitude towards the senior members for all their contributions towards the club and their endless guidance towards the junior members. Following the video presentation was a games session, where the senior members were divided into five groups and competed against each other in an intense eating contest.


After that, the members got ready for an open microphone session. Members were strongly encouraged to share their thoughts, feelings and memories made throughout the 2017/18 fiscal year. There was also a talent time session, where members were encourage to perform and showcase their talents. Past president, LEO Khor Jia Shin, then gave his speech, which was followed by a speech from the president, LEO Lan Yuen Qi. Both speeches were full of words of encouragement, which gave the senior members a final closure to their journey as a LEO member and encouraged the junior members to look forward to the 2018/19 fiscal year. The members were then entertained by another video presentation, relieving the senior members of their memories as a LEO member. There was also a singing performance by the junior members as the members enjoyed their dinner.


The event came to an end with a finale dance performance by the junior members, followed by a group photo session. To sum it up, this event was a successful one and managed to bid farewell to the senior LEO members, who have retired from the club.

Mock cheque presentation session. On the 24th of March 2018 (Saturday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its annual charity event - which was Charity Night, from 7:30p.m. to 11:15 p.m. It was hosted at the Manhattan II ballroom in Berjaya Times Square Hotel, which had been rented prior to the event in order to serve as the main event area. The theme for this year's Charity Night was "Luminescence". The main purpose of the event was to raise funds to help the blind community, as all profits from this event were donated to various blind organisations and homes. The project also aspired to educate and raise awareness about blindness in our society today. 46th MD LEO Forum

We won some awards! Ten members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had attended the 46th MD LEO Forum from the 25th to the 27th of May 2018 at Trove Hotel, Johor Bahru. The theme for this year’s forum was “Joint, Humanity, Balance”, which aimed to encourage joint learning through experience, empower compassion for a better society and equality in the society by fulfilling our own voluntary services. This was followed by an ice breaking session and cultural activity, where the LEOs were separated into groups of eight and each explored their creativity in decorating a batik cloth. Charity Night 2023: Hearts VS Spades

  On December 15, 2023, Friday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its first Charity Night event in 5 years at HGH Convention Centre Sentul. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the community of people struggling with diabetes and to raise awareness about their challenges. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and devotion among LEO members towards the club. The theme for this year’s event, ‘Hearts Vs Spades’, symbolises the relentless battle waged by warriors worldwide against the dreaded adversary of diabetes.  Diabetes, a chronic affliction characterised by high sugar levels in the bloodstream, is no ordinary foe. As we unite under this captivating emblem, we shine a spotlight on the valiant struggles of those grappling to stabilise their blood glucose levels and continue to live another day.
