Leo School 2018

On the 21st July 2018, the Board of Directors of our club attended the LEO school, which was held in Brickfields Asia College from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The main objective of this event was to provide clear guidelines to the Key Officers and Board of Directors for this new fiscal year and to train them to run their club effectively and efficiently.

The event started with a speech, followed by a video presentation, which was prepared for the Lions and LEO members who were present during the opening ceremony. The video emphasised the importance of each and every LEO member and reminded us of our purpose and goal. After that, the members were divided into their respective sessions, which were conducted by a Lion each. These sessions provided insights on how to develop leadership and communication skills, as well as to clarify the duties and responsibilities of a Key Officer or Board of Director. Different activities were carried out in each sessions such as role play, personality tests and dancing. Throughout the sessions, the Lions were very encouraging and understanding, which played a great part in lightening up the serious atmosphere.

During the closing ceremony, District Governor for 2018/19, Lion Michelle Mok, gave an inspiring speech, which motivated us to be innovative, compassionate and creative. She also placed heavy emphasis on the power of youth and positive thinking. District Chairperson of Youth Camp and Exchange, Lion JC Wah, along with District Chairperson Designated of LEO Clubs, Youth Opportunity, Quest Region 3, 4 and 5, Lion Lee Wai Koong, then presented the certificates to the LEO members who attended this event. In the end, the LEO members learnt the importance of teamwork and interdependence. This event was also a valuable opportunity for the LEO members to get to know members from other schools and motivated them to continue reaching out to serve the community.

Mock cheque presentation session. On the 24th of March 2018 (Saturday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its annual charity event - which was Charity Night, from 7:30p.m. to 11:15 p.m. It was hosted at the Manhattan II ballroom in Berjaya Times Square Hotel, which had been rented prior to the event in order to serve as the main event area. The theme for this year's Charity Night was "Luminescence". The main purpose of the event was to raise funds to help the blind community, as all profits from this event were donated to various blind organisations and homes. The project also aspired to educate and raise awareness about blindness in our society today. The theme was chosen to enlighten the public on the challenges faced by the millions of blind people all over the world. 46th MD LEO Forum

We won some awards! Ten members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had attended the 46th MD LEO Forum from the 25th to the 27th of May 2018 at Trove Hotel, Johor Bahru. The theme for this year’s forum was “Joint, Humanity, Balance”, which aimed to encourage joint learning through experience, empower compassion for a better society and equality in the society by fulfilling our own voluntary services. Pyjamas Party. The forum began with an opening ceremony. Then, all LEOs were briefed about some home and safety rules. This was followed by an ice breaking session and cultural activity, where the LEOs were separated into groups of eight and each explored their creativity in decorating a batik cloth. At 7.00 p.m., all LEOs gathered back in the ballroom, dressed in their fanciest pyjamas for fellowship night, themed “Pyjamas Party”. Charity Night 2023: Hearts VS Spades

  On December 15, 2023, Friday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its first Charity Night event in 5 years at HGH Convention Centre Sentul. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the community of people struggling with diabetes and to raise awareness about their challenges. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and devotion among LEO members towards the club. The theme for this year’s event, ‘Hearts Vs Spades’, symbolises the relentless battle waged by warriors worldwide against the dreaded adversary of diabetes.  Diabetes, a chronic affliction characterised by high sugar levels in the bloodstream, is no ordinary foe. As we unite under this captivating emblem, we shine a spotlight on the valiant struggles of those grappling to stabilise their blood glucose levels and continue to live another day.
