Minor Funding Event: Back-To-School Bites
From August 19th to 20th, 2024, and August 26th to 27th, 2024, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its first Minor Funding Project for the fiscal year 2024/2025. This event featured a physical food sale with the theme "Back-To-School Bites." The goal was to offer affordable and delicious food and beverages to fellow students, encouraging them to have fun and interact with one another, especially after returning from the Year-End Holidays. The lively atmosphere created during meal times was intended to reinvigorate students' spirits as they adjusted back to school life.
The event was led by the Organizing Chairperson, LEO Lee Yin Xin, with assistance from the Assisting Organizing Chairpersons, LEO Lee Jia En and LEO Yee Jiu Yeung, along with committee members LEO Tay Jing Wen, LEO Wong Kai Wen, and LEO Tan Earn Qii.
The primary purpose of this event was to provide students of Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) with an opportunity to enjoy themselves after the Year-End Holidays and to boost their spirits. Additionally, it aimed to prepare LEO members for the upcoming fiscal year and to raise funds for the club's future activities.
This event was held on the school grounds, with the food sale taking place at the back of the school canteen.
The food sale occurred on September 19th (Monday), September 20th (Tuesday), September 26th (Monday), and September 27th (Tuesday) during both lower and upper secondary lunch breaks. A wide variety of food and drinks were sold, including Indomie noodles, Oden, marshmallow fruit skewers, chicken gyoza, Milo ice, Ribena ice, and Coca-Cola. A different menu was offered for each set of two days. We greatly appreciate the incredible support from both teachers and students of Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International), whose participation was essential to the success of the food sale.
Overall, this event was a tremendous success, as we managed to raise sufficient funds for us to buy stationery supplies and grocery items for the children’s home. LEO Club members also gained new skills and strengthened their bonds with one another. We are truly grateful to the staff, teachers, and students who supported us, and most importantly, to our LEO Faculty Advisors and members for their hard work, determination, and dedication throughout this food sale.
