Pre-Exam Food Sale & Mini Games

From the 11th to the 14th of September (Monday to Thursday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its first ever Pre-Exam Food Sale and Mini Games project during both upper and lower secondary break and lunch. The event was headed by Organising Chairperson Leo Chia Xin Zheng Alden, the Funding Director, with help from his Assistant Organising Chairperson, Leo Andrea Goh Ern-Rey, and the committee which consisted of Leo Lim Jia Wen, Leo Wong Yen Ling, and Leo Teh Deng Shyang. The main objective of conducting this event was to help students release stress before sitting for their respective examinations. Apart from that, the project was also aimed to raise funds for the club's future community service projects and events. A duty list was prepared beforehand in order to let the members know their respective tasks and shifts for the food sale and mini games. School Serve 2017 - Dream XL

On the 23rd and 24th of August, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School carried out a school service project themed "Dream XL", which means dream extra large. The main purpose of this event was to help students discover what their dreams are and to dream big. Other than that, the project is also aimed to encourage students to not let others discourage them from pursuing their dreams. It also allows them to understand what characteristics they need to have in order to achieve their dreams. "Dream XL" was orchestrated by our community service director, Leo Wong Xin Yi, with the aid of assistant organising chairperson, Leo Khoo Zi Qi, and was put together with help from Leo Sandy Ho Yen Xiu, Leo Hu Shing Ye, and Leo Lee Kai Jie. 15th Annual Farewell - Simba Milele

On the 22nd of July 2017, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School had their annual Farewell at Twenty20Two, located in Seksyen 22, Petaling Jaya. A total of 57 Leos, consisting of 28 senior members and 29 junior members attended the event. The committee for this year's annual Farewell was led by Leo Calista Liew Weng Yan as the organizing chairperson, partnered with her assistant organizing chairperson Leo Sitara Darini Vijayavel, with invaluable support from the committee members Leo Andrea Goh, Leo Wong You Jian, and Leo Tan Yong Ze. The committee decided on the theme "Simba Milele" for this year's annual Farewell, which means "Lions Forever" in Swahili. Junior members gathered at the venue at 9:30a.m. in the morning on the event day. They immediately got to work, setting up decorations, testing the a.v. system and practising performances, along with various other tasks and duties. 15th Annual Installation - Leo De Novo

On the 14th of July, 2017, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held their 15th Annual Installation. The event took place from 3:30p.m. to 6:00p.m. at the Dutton Hall. The theme for this year's Installation Service was "Leo De Novo", which means "anew" in Latin. This year's Annual Installation was spearheaded by the organizing committee, which consisted of the organizing chairperson,  Leo Lok Mei Xuan, along with her assistant organizing chairperson, Leo Justin Tan, and the other committee members, Leo Tan Lik Wei, Leo Khor Jia Shin, and Leo Chong Ning Xin. At 3:40p.m., the meeting was called to order by Lion Lee Choon Heng, Presiding Officer, President of the Lions Club of Ampang. This was followed by the singing of the national anthem and the recitation of the Leo pledge, led by Leo Khor Jia Shin, the incoming president. Visitation to Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Terencat Akal

On the 27th of June 2017 (Tuesday), 5 of our club members paid a visit to Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Terencat Akal which is a home located in Petaling Jaya for the mentally challenged. At 10a.m. in the morning, 5 of us arrived at Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Terencat Akal. When we arrived, the person in charge gave us a brief introduction about the place. To our surprise, not all the patients were kids. There were kids as young as 6 years old, teenagers and even elderlies. There is a television in the house to keep them entertained. There is an activity space in front of the home where most of them spends their time there. We started our day by playing games with the patients there. Before that, we introduced ourselves to them one by one as some of them have hearing problems. The first game that we played was musical chairs. Volunteer Work at Neighborhood Learning Centre

      On the 22nd of April 2017, 10 Leos accompanied by 1 faculty advisor as well as 7 Lions made their way to the Neighbourhood Learning Centre. The Leos gathered in school at 9.45 a.m. and proceeded to the centre at 10.00 a.m. with the Lions.                After a 15 minute drive, we reached our destination. The centre housed 20 Burmese children and after introductions, the Leos spent time with the children. The Leos split themselves into groups and bonded with the children. Soon after, group activities were carried out. The first activity was a game called "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Caterpillar Style." The children, who ranged from ages 3-10 years old enjoyed themselves in a competitive version of a classic game. The winners of each round were allowed to take the treats brought by Lion Tan Poh Ling.
