Image
From the 24th January to the 28th January, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School organized an event themed "Hakuna Matata". This event was an online virtual run, held to spread awareness to the public regarding childhood cancer through the virtual run. Our theme description, “Hakuna Matata” is a phrase in Swahili meaning “no worries”. Through this theme, we hope to allow all the participants to run free from their worries and shackles and keep fit at the same time. It also represents our wish to allow the unfortunate children who have contracted cancer to experience a life with no worries.   There were approximately 189 students and teachers that took part in this event. Participants were required to record the number of steps they took each day across the duration of the event and submit the total number of steps they took at the end of the event. In conjunction with the virtual run event, we also had a merchandise sale consisting of badges and T-shirts. All the funds ra

Image
The LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had our annual LEO Camp from 5.00 p.m to 10.05 p.m on the 21st January 2022. The main objectives of the event were to encourage the members to enjoy themselves and improve relations among all club members, especially between the senior and junior LEO members.  The theme of the camp was Auroara. The word ‘Auroara’ originates from the word ‘Aurora’ which means ‘dawn’ in Latin. This depicts the rise of new beginnings in this fiscal year and signifies growth. Through this theme, the camp aims to unite club members and inspire them as they grow together in their LEO journey. At 5.00 p.m. on Friday, participants gathered together on Microsoft Teams in their respective teams, and we started the event with the opening ceremony. It was an honour to have Lion Shirene Chin, Lion Elessee, and Lion Lee Wai Koong grace the opening ceremony of our event. Mr. Wong Chee Kheon, the Guest of Honour, also gave a speech to encourage our LEO members to continue achi

18th Annual Farewell: Once Upon A Roar

Image
On the 1st September 2021, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its 18th Annual Farewell virtually on Zoom from 2.15 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. The farewell was themed ‘Once Upon A Roar’. The theme ‘Once Upon A Roar’ depicts the memories created by the seniors throughout their journey as LEO members of the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School. The theme was derived from the iconic phrase 'once upon a time', which is usually used in fairy tales to signify the beginning of a story. In this context, we will be reminiscing about the dedication of our senior LEOs since the start of their fiscal year and concluding it all with the end of our farewell. The seniors had encountered hardships to ensure that we, the junior LEO members, enjoyed our time in the club. Through this theme, we hope that the seniors will carry along the LEO pride and persevere on their voyage with much spirit and enthusiasm as they begin a brand new chapter in their lives. This event was organized by the Organizin
