Leo Camp 2016

On the 21st and 22nd of October 2016, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School organised a Leo Camp for the club members in the school’s compound. The camp was planned by the organising chairperson, Leo Chia Kye Shean, along with the assistant organising chairperson, Leo Estee Tai, and their committee, which consisted of Leo Ng Li Hui, Leo Liew Dong Xun, Leo Wong Kit Wai, Leo Amanda Lim, and Leo Chee Gee Ren. A total of 61 participants along with 16 facilitators and 5 teacher advisors were involved in this camp. The theme of this camp is “Meow Today, Roar Tomorrow”. “Meow Today” signifies the voices of young Leo members who strive for a leadership opportunity. “Roar Tomorrow” signifies that through this camp, we would be able to produce future Leo members who turn their ‘meows’ into ‘roars’, voicing their opinions bravely.  The main purpose of the camp is to form a strong bond between Leo members, to promote leadership as well as teamwork, and also to enable the members to think critica

School Service '16

A school service project was held on the 22 nd of October (Saturday) by the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School. This project was aimed to give a chance for the Leo members to make the school a better place to learn, and also to give the school a refurbished look by repainting the volleyball court and basketball courts between Block A and D. As it was held on the same day as Leo Camp, the project was also planned by the camp committee, and led by the organising chairperson, Leo Teo Boon Kee. Careful planning was carried out before the project was executed. The club decided to repaint outlines of the courts as the current paint marks of the two courts had faded. This was so that students would be able to play their games actively and comfortably during their physical education lessons. Materials such as paint, brushes and tape were bought beforehand. Voluntary Work at Dignity Centre, Sentul

The Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School had a total of two visits to Dignity Centre, which was in Sentul, on the 9th and 23rd of September 2016 to carry out some voluntary work. Four Leo members were accompanied by a teacher advisor for each visit. In one of our visits, Leo Teo Boon Kee, Leo Chia Kye Shean, Leo Wong Kit Wai and Leo Chan Wei Xinn left school at 1.30 p.m. and arrived at Dignity Centre at 1.50 p.m. Once they were there, Leo Chia Kye Shean was in charge of helping the café while Leo Wong Kit Wai was in charge of housekeeping. Meanwhile, Leo Teo Boon Kee and Leo Chan Wei Xinn took care and played with the toddlers at the centre. The members also helped the volunteers to pack cookies into plastic bags. The cookies were prepared for a non-profitable event on the following Monday. They talked and interacted with the people there as well. Soon, it was time for the members to go. Pre-Exam Mini Games 2016

From the 5th to 9th of September 2016 (Monday to Friday), the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School held its first ever Pre-Exam Mini Games during both upper and lower secondary break and lunch. The event was organised by Leo Wong Hong Ming, the Funding Director, with the help of his Assistant Organising Chairperson, Leo Peh Shennie and the committee which consisted of Leo Ng Zhu Yang, Leo Jorn Tan and Leo Sivarajan. The main objective of this event was to help students release stress by playing simple games before they face their upcoming exams. A great variety of games were prepared for the students to enjoy during the event. A lucky draw was also held, where two winners from the lower secondary and 1 winner from the upper secondary were awarded prizes during lunch on Friday. On the day of the mini games, the game area was set up at the bench area by the Leo members before their respective shifts began. School Serve 2016 - I W̶i̶s̶h̶ Will

On the 23 rd and 24 th of August, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School carried out a school service project with the theme “I Wish Will”. The aim of this project is to remind students that life isn’t just about sitting around constantly wishing for something good to happen; instead of wishing, they should take the first move by having the will to try. Besides that, the project’s purpose is also to encourage students to lose all their fears and doubts and try something new for once. The event was organised by our Community Service Director, Leo Teo Boon Kee, with the help of the assistant organising chairperson, Leo Oon Ai Xuan. The committee members consisted of Leo Chan Wei Xinn and Leo Hay Wee Xin Whitney. On the day of the project, a skit regarding confidence was presented to the students during morning assembly. 14th Annual Farewell - The Roarscars

On the 9th of July 2016, which was a Saturday, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School had its annual Farewell at Cabana Avenue Event Space located at the Cascades, Kota Damansara. 69 Leos consisting of 36 junior Leos and 33 senior Leos alongside with 2 faculty advisors, namely Miss Low Fee Ngoo and Miss Manusha Nair were present. This year, the organising committee was made up of five junior Leo members, led by the organizing chairperson, Leo Soma Sivashankar, assisted by the assistant organizing chairperson, Leo Teo Boon Kee, and the committee members, namely Leo Chia Kye Shean, Leo Isabelle Yap and Leo Alistair Lim. The theme that they decided on for this event was “The Roarscars”. On the day of the event, the junior Leos gathered at the venue at 10.45am. Upon arrival, preparations for the event started with immediate effect as everyone split into their respective departments to carry out their tasks.
