LEO Orientation Day 2019

On the 9th of January 2019, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its annual LEO Orientation Day at the lecture theatre from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. The main purpose of the event is to educate the newly recruited LEO members about the objectives and functions of the club, as well as the various responsibilities of a LEO Club member. The event was organised by LEO Alyssa Yip Zhixin.

President of Lions Club of Ampang, Lion Joey Lee. After that, the club President, LEO Lan Yuen Qi, led the LEO members in the recitation of the LEO pledge, which was followed by roll call for all the guests present. Then, the Guest Speaker, Zone 21 Chairperson, Lion Potter Ka Kai Fong was invited up on stage to carry out his presentation. During his presentation, Lion Potter managed to give a thorough explanation of the history of Lions Club and LEO Clubs, as well as our mission and vision. He also explained about the five global services, which have been the focus of the Lions and LEO Clubs lately. Lion Potter also invited his Canadian friend, Lions Club International Board Liaison, LEO Lion Kyle, up on stage to share his experience as both a LEO member and a member of the Lions Club. LEO Lion Kyle also gave insights of how the LEO Clubs operate in different countries. This was followed by a Q&A session, which was greatly interactive and informative. Tokens of appreciation were then given out to the guests present,
and Lion Joey Lee was invited back up on stage to adjourn the meeting. Refreshments were prepared for the guests in the cafeteria.
