Minor Community Service: Assembly Soup Kitchen

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, fifteen members of the LEO Club, along with Faculty Advisors Mdm Devika Nagarajan, Ms. Izznusratina Nur Khalis, Mr. Ramanaesh Rao, and Mr. Naresh Manickavasagam, participated in a Minor Community Service activity at The Assembly Soup Kitchen, located at 3, Jalan Majistret U1/26, Hicom Glenmarie. The activity, held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., was conducted in collaboration with The Assembly Soup Kitchen organisation and led by Organising Chairperson LEO Reanne Chai Xin Yi. At 9:55 a.m., all LEO members gathered at The Assembly Soup Kitchen, where they were warmly welcomed by members of the organisation. A briefing was provided on the program’s flow, detailing the tasks for the day and emphasising the mission of the soup kitchen to supply food to orphanages, old folks' homes, schools, and churches. LEO Camp Mock Check Ceremony

During the morning assembly on Monday, 30th September, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) held a mock cheque presentation ceremony. The event, which took place from 7:30 to 8:15 am, was organised to present a mock cheque representing the total amount raised by the LEO Club. A sum of RM 11,770.70 was donated to the World Vision Berhad organisation. The ceremony commenced with a speech by Anson Chan, the Leo Camp Organising Chairperson, who highlighted the camp's success and key details. Following this, Miss Ninian, a representative from World Vision, was invited on stage to receive the mock cheque from the Principal, Mr. Wong Chee Kheon. A group photo was then taken with the management team, faculty advisors, and committee members. LEO Camp 2024: Right The Wrong

From 3:30 p.m. on the 6th of September 2024 to 11:00 p.m. on the 7th of September 2024, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School organized its Annual LEO Camp 2024, themed "World Vision 30-Hour Famine Challenge: Right the Wrong." The main objectives of the event were to raise awareness about the global hardships of poverty and hunger faced by millions and to strengthen the bonds between LEO members. The camp also focused on promoting leadership and teamwork, ensuring that members work together in unity throughout the fiscal year. Participants gathered at Wesley Hall at 3:45 p.m. for attendance and registration. After registering, the faculty advisors collected their donation booklets along with the raised funds. Participants were then provided with their meals before beginning the 30-hour fast. On Saturday and Sunday, August 23rd and 24th, 2024, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted a trip to Malacca to learn more about terrapins and visit the children at the Kasih Sayang Charity Home. This event is to let the members engage in activities such as terrapin's hole hatchery cleaning and beach cleanings, encouraging their participation in conservation efforts to promote environmental stewardship. Additionally, the event reinforced the importance of helping those in need. The event was organised by the Organizing Chairperson, LEO Lee Yin Xin, who was assisted by Assisting Organizing Chairpersons, LEO Lee Jia En and LEO Yee Jiu Yeung, along with committee members LEO Tay Jing Wen, LEO Wong Kai Wen, and LEO Tan Earn Qii. Minor Funding Event: Back-To-School Bites

From August 19th to 20th, 2024, and August 26th to 27th, 2024, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its first Minor Funding Project for the fiscal year 2024/2025. This event featured a physical food sale with the theme "Back-To-School Bites." The goal was to offer affordable and delicious food and beverages to fellow students, encouraging them to have fun and interact with one another, especially after returning from the Year-End Holidays. The lively atmosphere created during meal times was intended to reinvigorate students' spirits as they adjusted back to school life. On the 14th of August 2024, Wednesday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School organised an induction programme  at the Wesley Hall from 3.30p.m to 530p.m. The objective of this event was to formally introduce the newly recruited members to the club and break the ice. It was also organised to give new members a positive impression of the LEO group and to inculcate in them a sense of belonging to the club. This event was led by the Organising Chairperson, LEO Venice Liang Kar Kei along with the Assistant Organising Chairperson, LEO Jayme Lee Yan Mae. The event started with the Vice President, LEO Gwenyth Ong Wei Mun, giving an inspiring speech to our fellow members, sharing about her experiences as a LEO member for the past year and how the club has helped her in several aspects as a student, such as in character building and teaching her how to overcome challenges. 21st Annual Farewell: Back to the Early Days

On Saturday, July 13, 2024, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted its 21st Annual LEO Farewell event at The Club - Bukit Utama. This event celebrated the dedication and hard work of the graduating LEO seniors over their two years of service and offered a heartfelt farewell. The theme for this year’s event, "Back to the Early Days," symbolised the break the seniors would take after completing their journey as LEO members. We aimed to give the seniors a well-deserved chance to relax and enjoy their final LEO event before embarking on the next chapter of their lives. Participants were encouraged to dress in semi-formal attire inspired by a childhood picture of themselves, adding a nostalgic and playful touch to the celebration. 21st Annual Installation: Fleur de Lumière

On July 9, 2024, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its 21st Annual Installation at Wesley Hall from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This event marked the official retirement of senior members after two years of service and the formal installation of junior members and the Board of Directors. The theme for this year was "Fleur de Lumière," which translates to "Flower of Light" in French. This phrase symbolizes passion, growth, and enlightenment, representing the blossoming journey of individuals within the LEO Club as they navigate opportunities, challenges, and personal growth, much like flowers reaching toward the light to thrive and flourish. On Saturday, June 15, 2024, twelve members of the LEO Club, along with Faculty Advisors Mdm Devika A/P Nagarajan and Mr. Naresh Manickavasagam, participated in a Minor Community Service acitvity at Jalan SS2/3, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This activity, held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., was conducted in collaboration with the Lovely Disabled Home organisation and led by Organizing Chairperson LEO Shannon Ong Shiang Leng. The objective was to enhance members' practices towards a more sustainable environment, aligning with one of the LEO Club’s global causes: the environment. Additionally, the initiative aimed to strengthen bonds among LEO members and raise awareness about the importance of recycling, waste reduction, and sustainable practices. Cross Country 2024: Colors for a Cause

On the 20th of January 2024, the LEO Club and Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School jointly co-organised the school’s Leo Interact Cross Country event. The event aimed to raise funds for Methodist Crisis Relief & Development (MCRD) and Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA). It took place in Taman Metropolitan Park Kepong, where students, teachers, parents, and alumni from the school participated in the charity run. After LEO and Interact members arrived at the venue early to set up the tents and stations, as well as conduct a final check, the event commenced at 7:30 a.m. Wesleyan students gathered at the assembly point, and their attendance was taken, while VIPs and a group of youth from MAKNA and MCRD arrived. Following that, the opening ceremony kicked off with a short morning prayer by teacher Ms. Cryzel Gan. International Relationship Week 2024: Connection Found

On the 22nd of March 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Wesley Hall, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School hosted the final event of our Club’s Annual International Relationship Week for 2024 - the International Relationship Day itself. The theme of this year’s event, 'Connection Found', focuses on the importance of investing time and effort into our relationships, despite life's challenges and busyness, to truly understand ourselves. The objective of the event was to strengthen the friendships between the LEO members of our school and those from other schools attending the event. Additionally, it aimed to educate the audience and raise awareness about the importance of self-understanding.
