Y.E.S Camp

Group "Dark Horse"! On the 7th of December 2018 to the 10th of December 2018, a member from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School attended Y.E.S Camp, themed “Love, share and care”, which was held in Outbac Broga Negeri Sembilan. The event began with the opening ceremony, which consisted of an opening speech by Lion Dato’ Javern Lim and a speech by Lion Foo. Following that was the officiation of the YES Camp logo and the officiation of the camp, along with the introduction of the camp committee. Members were then given a briefing about the house rules before the ice breaking session started. Many activities were carried out during the camp. Outdoor activities such as survival race, which included several team building games and building a raft, waterfall abseiling, waterfall rock climbing, rock climbing, flying fox, leap of faith, and bouldering managed to challenge the members both physically and mentally. LEO Day 2018

LEO members celebrating the 61st International LEO Day. On the 2nd of December 2018, two members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School attended LEO Day 2018, themed “LEOventure”, which was held in SMK Jalan Cochrane from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. This event was held in conjunction with the 61st International LEO Day and aimed to raise awareness for the selected key areas among the LEO members. Registration began at 9.30 a.m. and the event started with the singing of the national anthem, followed by the recitation of the LEO pledge, which was led by LEO Germaine. Then, it was roll call, where every Lion and LEO members present gave three roars with much enthusiasm and pride when their names or club names were called. The Guest of Honour, Lion Richard, then gave a speech about the significance of being a LEO member and proceeded to share his experience as a LEO member, which began when he was in secondary school. Pre-Exam LEO Fun Fair

Pre-Exam Food Sale. On the 25th to 28th of September 2018, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its Pre-Exam LEO Fun Fair during every break and lunch at Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International). The theme of the event “Time Out”, signifies this event’s purpose as a short getaway for students from their busy school work and studies. This event also serves as a timeout to relief students’ stress for their upcoming final examinations, which is the main objective of the event. This event was led by the Organising Chairperson, LEO Woong Jia Hui, who was assisted by the Assistant Organising Chairperson, LEO Tan Pei Xing, along with committee members LEO Law Yu Xuan, LEO Low Tze Lun and LEO Wong Peh Bie. Every member was assigned to prepare one type of food for a day. A variety of food such as nuggets, brownies, marshmallows and chocolate, pearl milk tea and many more were sold during every lower and upper secondary break and lunch. Prices ranged from RM2 to RM4. On the 14th and 15th of September 2018, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its Annual LEO Camp from 3.30 p.m. on the 14th of September 2018 to 8.00p.m. on the 15th of September 2018 in Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International). The theme of the event “Leovolution” is a combination of the words “Leo” and “Evolution”, which signifies all senior LEO members stepping out of their comfort zones and taking on the role as mature leaders to guide and lead the way for the junior LEO members while the junior LEO members are being welcomed as a part of the LEO family. The main objective of the event was to promote leadership, as well as teamwork among the LEO members. WMSKL(I) Patriotic Day Celebration 2018

On the 21st of September 2018, the LEO Club  of Wesley Methodist School co-organised the WMSKL(I) Patriotic Day Celebration 2018 with the Bahasa Melayu Department of the school. This event was held from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in the Wesley Hall. The main objective of this event was to instill awareness of patriotism, spirit of nationalism and love towards our beautiful nation, Malaysia in the students. Besides that, it was also aimed to educate the students on Malaysia’s rich history and stunning transformation into the country it is today, and to emphasize the diversity of culture in Malaysia and how unity brings everyone, no matter the race or religion, together as one. 16th Annual Farewell - Lions in Pyjamas

On the 18th of August 2018, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its 16th Annual Farewell at Huang Kitchen from 3.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. The theme chosen for this year was “Lions in Pyjamas”, where the word “pyjamas” is used to signify that the senior LEO members can rest easy after knowing that all their hard work has paid off, realizing that a new generation of members will emerge to carry on their well-established legacy after a brilliant run for the 2017/2018 fiscal year. This event was lead by the Organising Chairperson, LEO Song He Lin, who was assisted by the Assistant Organising Chairperson, LEO Niklas Ng Zi Zhan together with the committee members LEO Nicole Soong Chor Theng, LEO Low Tze Lun and LEO Wong Peh Bie. World Ocean Day 2018

On the 11th and 12th of August 2018, a total of 10 members from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School attended World Oceans Day 2018 held in Publika Shopping Gallery as volunteers for the event. This event was organised by the Marine Special Interest Group of the Malaysian Nature Society and was co-organised by some of the Lions and Leo Clubs of District 308-B1. The purpose of this event was to raise awareness about the issues affecting the ocean’s health and the importance of sea creatures such as coral reefs, seagrass and sharks. Besides that, this event aimed to encourage people to get involved in the prevention of marine litter by educating them and providing alternative solutions.  On the first day, seven of us attended the event as volunteers. On the 21st July 2018, the Board of Directors of our club attended the LEO school, which was held in Brickfields Asia College from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The main objective of this event was to provide clear guidelines to the Key Officers and Board of Directors for this new fiscal year and to train them to run their club effectively and efficiently.      Secretaries learning how to record meeting minutes in Secretary School. The event started with a speech, followed by a video presentation, which was prepared for the Lions and LEO members who were present during the opening ceremony. The video emphasised the importance of each and every LEO member and reminded us of our purpose and goal. After that, the members were divided into their respective sessions, which were conducted by a Lion each. WMSKL(I) Christmas Project 2018

On 2 August 2018, Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) held its annual Christmas Project from 7.30 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. in the Wesley Hall. The event started with an invitation to confession, followed by a call to worship, which were both responsive sessions. After that, there was a choir presentation and an opening prayer. The Christian Fellowship Club then led the worship session. Next, there was a prayer of illumination and scripture reading. Mr. Oliver then introduced the Guest Speaker, Pastor Ravi Arumugam, who gave a speech entitled, Sermon: 'I Am'. A tambourine dance prepared by the Girls’ Brigade took the stage after Mr. Ravi’s thought-provoking speech. Following that was the presentation of Christmas presents to Methodist Boys School Sentul. ICCPJ Charity Concert 2018 - City of Stars: Where Dreams Come True

On the 15th of July 2018, 13 of our LEO members attended the Annual ICCPJ Charity Concert, which was held at HGH Convention Centre, Sentul, from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. The theme for this event was “City of Stars: Where Dreams Come True”, which was inspired by the movie “La La Land”. The “stars” for this event were the performers and by attending this event, the dreams of the children at the Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS) will be made true as the Interact Coordinating Committee of Petaling Jaya has partnered with the Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia for this event. All funds collected from this event were to be channeled to Agape Vision, who will be setting up a Residential Treatment Centre that will provide free residential treatment to abused youths. 16th Annual Installation - In Flamma Ignis

On the 4th of July 2018, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School held its 16th Annual Installation at the Wesley Hall from 3.40 p.m. to 5.10 p.m. The theme chosen for this year was “In Flamma Ignis” which means “From Spark to Flame”, symbolising the junior LEO members who are ready to grow and ignite to serve the community with a passion that remains burning in their hearts forever. This event was led by the Organizing Chairperson, LEO Lan Yuen Qi, who was assisted by the Assistant Organizing Chairperson, LEO Chew Jun Ho together with committee members, LEO Woong Jia Hui, LEO Lye Ming-Rong and LEO Lum Ting Fang.
