On the 8th January 2020, Wednesday, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School had their Annual LEO Orientation Day from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. The objective of this orientation was to allow the newly recruited LEO members to have a full understanding of the LEO Club. It also aimed to create a positive impression on the new members regarding the LEO Club and to instill a sense of belonging in the new members towards the club. The event was led by the Organising Chairperson, LEO Teh Deng Han and Assistant Organizing Chairperson, LEO Khoo Hui-Yi.
The members gathered at the Lecture Theatre after school at 3.15 p.m. Upon the Guest of Honor’s arrival, Lion Nelson Tee who was the speaker of the orientation, the event commenced. The members were given a talk regarding the founding, history and aims of the LEO Club and the Lions Club. Lion Nelson Tee also shared his experience throughout his LEO journey. At the end of the orientation, the members had the opportunity to have a Q&A session with the Lion where the members voiced their questions regarding the LEO Club. As a sign of our gratitude towards the Lions for taking time out of their busy schedules to grace our event, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School presented tokens of appreciation to the Lions and Guests of Honor present at the event.
The Lions and Guests of Honor then proceeded to the school’s canteen for light refreshments. In conclusion, the members managed to garner more information regarding the LEO Club and Lions Club at the start of the year, which would greatly help them in their respective LEO journeys.
