Community Service Collaboration Project: Land That I Love
On the 18th of September, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School organised a community service project with the theme “Land That I Love” in conjunction with the school’s Patriotic Day which was organized a week later. The event was held during both upper and lower secondary break and lunch in front of the school canteen. Students were encouraged to write what they love about our country, Malaysia, on a piece of coloured paper. The participants received premiums sponsored by Shell Malaysia, which were notebooks and pens. The outcome of this event was really successful as the notice board was filled with notes written by the students and teachers of WMSKL(I).
In conjunction with the community service project held, the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School invited Projek 57, a social enterprise inspired by the vision of many different kinds of people embracing each other as well as living and working well together in Malaysia, to conduct a talk regarding patriotism and unity on the 25th September 2019. The talk was held in the lecture theatre for our very own club members and it inspired many of the members to be patriotic. The speaker, Mr Sadiq, was really interactive with the members and constantly asked them questions and stated facts which the members could relate to. Some videos were shown as well as a presentation. Tokens of appreciation were given to the two representatives from Projek57. A group picture was also taken at the end of the session. We had a good time listening to the presentation, and appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the organisation.
