On the 17th of December 2019, Tuesday, seven of our members and Mr. Naresh A/L Manickavasagam, our Faculty Advisor, from the LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School visited the PAWS Animal Welfare Society centre to carry out our Minor Community Service Project from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. The objective of this minor community service project was to help clean up and take care of the animals in the centre. The event was led by the Organising Chairperson, LEO Teoh Zhi Yuan.
The members and Mr. Naresh set off to the PAWS Animal Welfare Society at 8.30 a.m. and arrived at their designated destination at 9.00 a.m. Upon their arrival, the members were briefed about the rules and regulations of the PAWS centre. The members were then split into groups and were given different tasks. A group of three girls were put in charge of the cats area, where they washed the cats bowls, as well as sweep the floors in the cats cages. A pair of boys were given the task of washing the dog bowls, and the last pair or members were given the task to scrub and clean the dogs cages alongside the workers. After the members were done with their tasks at hand, the members were then allowed to walk the dogs to a nearby enclosed grass area.
The members had a great time helping the workers, and playing with the animals at the PAWS Animal Welfare Society centre. The members and Mr. Naresh were then gathered outside for a group picture to end their minor community service project.
